Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
An absolute must do visit and experience. The centre provides a home for abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife and is a respected contributor to wildlife conservation. This is home to Stoffel who is affectionately known as Houdini the master escape artist. Other animals that you may see are lion, leopard, serval, cheetah, hyena, honey badger, eagles, vultures and various baby animals.

Day visit to Kruger Park
Hoedspruit is 30min from Orpen Gate. The Kruger National Park, is one of Africa’s largest game reserves.
Its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape.

Jessica the Hippo
If you have not visited Jessica before then you need to add this on your to do list. Jessica is an 18-year old female Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) who lives near Hoedspruit, her story alone is one that makes you smile and warm inside. The interaction with Jessica is one for the books and a must do for everyone at least once in your life!

The Baobab Restaurant

Visit the giant Baobab tree in Hoedspruit and taste some of those delicious pancakes at the neighboring restaurant.
This restaurant also has a small playground for the little ones. The Baboab tree can be easily combined with a visit to Jessica the Hippo, as both activities are only 5 minutes apart.

Blyde Dam Boat Cruise
Enjoy a lovely boat ride on the Blyde Dam, where you can savour the splendor of the Blyde River Canyon. Your tour guide will take you to the Kadishi Tufa Waterfall and the majestic Three Rondavels. Wildlife is abundant; you’ll be able to spot hippo, crocodile, as well as fish eagle. During the cruise, you can learn more about the history of the third biggest canyon in the world.

The perfect place to spend some time, grab a bite to eat and a cold beer. 24 Degrees South at the Old Silk Farm is full of interesting things to see. Great mountain views and friendly staff add to one’s experience; from enjoying a delicious meal at Anne’s Cotton Club Café, to browsing in the interesting and unique shops on the farm, viewing the classic car and motorbike collection to treating yourself at the G&G Relaxation Spa or watching Andy at work in his leather studio.
